Where in the US do full-time advanced practice nurses earn the most?

"The 'Medscape Nurse Salary Report 2015,' released Wednesday, revealed full-time advanced practice nurses — including nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse midwives and nurse anesthetists — earn between $95,000 and $170,000, on average.
The Medscape survey includes responses from more than 8,250 nurses, including practical and vocational nurses, registered nurses and advanced practice nurses.
Here is a list of average full-time APN compensation by region, starting with where APNs make the most.
- West (California and Hawaii) — $120,000
- Northwest (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming) — $108,000
- South Central (Arkansas, Kansas and Texas) — $105,000
- Northeast (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont) — $104,000
- Southwest (Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah) — $103,000
- Great Lakes (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin) — $98,000
- Mid-Atlantic (Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia) — $98,000
- Southeast (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee) — $95,000
