Vice President of Advanced Practice and Ambulatory
THE OPPORTUNITY:
The newly-created Vice President of Advanced Practice and Ambulatory for Phoenix Children's Hospital presents an outstanding opportunity for a entrepreneurial leader who wants to leave their mark on the organization by elevating and strengthening the level of practice across the organization. Reporting to this position are all the APPs across the organization. In addition, this VP will have oversight of the nursing practice in all the outpatient clinic operations.
ORGANIZATION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Phoenix Children's Hospital (PCH) is slated to be the largest children's hospital in the country with 433 licensed beds and plans to expand.
- With nearly 1,000 pediatric specialists and more than 75 subspecialty fields of pediatric medicine, PCH has been recognized as a leader in pediatric clinical care. US News & World Report Best Children's Hospitals honored 9 of Phoenix Children's programs in 2015-16.
- Through a strategic alliance with Dignity Health Arizona, Phoenix Children's also serves as the pediatric affiliate of Dignity's four Arizona hospitals.
POSITION DETAILS:
- The successful candidate will be Master's prepared in Nursing, with a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in hospital and ambulatory operations, and a minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience. An MBA is preferred but not required.
- The successful candidate will be licensed as an Advance Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant and hold a national certification in a related field.
- Experience in an academic/teaching institution is important.
- An understanding of the billing and compliance regulations related to APPs is a must, as is knowledge of credentialing and privileging of APPs.
- It is essential that this individual have a high level of emotional intelligence.
