As survivorship for Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) oncology patients improves, there is a greater need to address quality of life issues, particularly in the area of reproductive health. The NCI-Funded Enriching Communication Skills for Health Professionals in Oncofertility (ECHO) is a web-based training program that includes psychosocial, biological, clinical, and skill building modules to help allied health professionals communicate timely and relevant information regarding reproductive health issues (e.g., fertility, sexuality, body image) to their adolescent and young adult (AYA) oncology patients.

This program is available at no cost and upon completion of all course requirements; participants will receive a $150.00 stipend for providing feedback on the curriculum. Eligibility criteria are to:

  • Be a registered nurse, social worker, psychologist, or physician assistant
  • Work in an in or out-patient oncology care setting
  • Provide oncology care for at least 5 adolescent/ young adult cancer patients (ages 15-45) per year
  • Commit to 1-2 hours for 8 weeks for web- based learning and activities

We are specifically seeking applicants who are physician assistants working in an oncology care setting and have extended the application deadline until February 10th, 2017. We have attached a program flyer, which we hope you will share with any physician assistant colleagues.

If you have any questions regarding the program please email echo@moffitt.org or call Meghan Bowman, program coordinator, at 813-745-6941

ECHO is funded by a National Cancer Institute R25 Training Grant: #2 R25 CA142519-06
