17.75 CEs - Training Program to Build Communication Skills for Oncology RNs, APRNs, & PAs

As survivorship for Adolescent and Young Adult {(AYA); (ages 15-45)} oncology patients improves, there is a greater need to address quality of life issues, particularly in the area of reproductive health. The NCI-Funded Enriching Communication Skills for Health Professionals in Oncofertility (ECHO) is a web-based training program focusing on building communication skills.
Training Topics
- Risk of infertility
- Fertility preservation
- Sexual functioning
- Body image
- Ethical, social, and cultural considerations
This program is available at no cost and upon completion of all course requirements; participants will receive 17.75 continuing education credits. To be eligible participants must:
- Be a social worker, psychologist, nurse, or advanced practice provider
- Work in an in or out-patient oncology care setting
- Provide oncology care for at least 5 AYA cancer patients (ages 15-45) per year
- Commit to 1-2 hours for 8 weeks for web- based learning and activities
