"The theme of this event is seniors care and how PAs as part of a collaborative patient-centered team can optimize access to quality care for Canadians.
PAs are currently practicing within the public health care systems in Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick and Alberta and patients are already starting to experience the value that these professionals bring to the health system. CAPA chose Toronto as the host city for this event to showcase the PAs working in this province and to educate the medical community on how the introduction of this profession can improve the overall health of Canadians.
In an era when health human resources are limited; and with the reduction of federal spending in health care, we need to find innovative ways to make our dollars stretch farther. PAs can be part of the solution. Working with physicians and alongside other healthcare professionals, PAs can maximize service for patients while helping the health care system to reduce spending."
